So, I'm now officially the mother of a 6 year old. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Today we pretty much just hung out with Avery. Krys took the day off of work, so we chilled family-style for a while, ran and checked the mail (Avery got a card from Gramma and was so excited that he almost didn't let me get everything else out of the mailbox), made brownies together, and played a lot. We decided to have brownies and ice cream rather than cake, since it was just going to be the four of us.

His presents from us were two superhero coloring books, two superhero action figures, the boxed set of Fraggle Rock DVDs, and several books. This weekend he's going to be getting some bunk beds and going to Dave and Buster's if we can arrange it with Elsie's parents, but he doesn't know that yet. Hee!

To distract Toby, we bought him a present to open (Elmo in Grouchland), and I went ahead and opened my presents (the other expansions for Sims2). It was a present-opening extravaganza!

Then they went to bed, all exhausted from the excitement and the sugar crash, and I updated Avery's baby book a bit. Poor thing gets so neglected, but some of the questions are just dumb. Looking through it, I realize that I WANT him to know who his great-grandparents were and what happened at his birth... but does anyone really keep up with every date that every tooth ever came in? Yeah, I mean, the first few are like, "OMG, TEEFIES!" But after that you have 4 coming in at once and they bite you and draw blood if you go to check, and it's really not worth it. They obviously all came in, and they're all going to fall out. (And would you BELIEVE it doesn't ask when his first loose/lost tooth is?)

And, "first time to hold a cup." Do you mean one I offered him or one he ganked off of the table when I wasn't looking? Because I promise you that the latter came well before the former.

Also, in a fit of nostalgia, I tore the house up to find the stuff to FINALLY order Toby's hospital pictures. So I should have those soon. They look like this:

Hehehe... my little alien monkeypants. I have the cutest kids in the world. (Not biased or anything.)

Anyway, that's all that really went down in the birthday arena. Hope everyone had a wonderful day in honor of Avery's birthday.
