Yeah, yeah. I've been slacking. I know that. Nothing incredibly interesting has been happening, though. Housework, housework, park, housework, housework, grocery shopping... And so it goes.

BUT! This weekend we went to the ren faire. That's exciting enough for a post.

See, my friend Silver is as big of a geek as Krys and I are, so we were totally all excited about the ren faire. This was the first weekend we all had free to go, though. Silver and her daughter Elsie got all dressed up as pirates:

I was supposed to borrow a ren dress from Silver, but the projected high was 105 (!!!) and that made me think twice about wearing a ton of black and purple material. So I just put on a light cotton dress I bought in New Orleans ages ago and wore a snood. WHY did snoods go out of style?! They're so cute!

But after a while, even the light cotton was too much. So, I bought a light, flowy silk thing from the belly dancing outfit people. (Also based out of New Orleans, coincidentally enough.)

We wandered around for about 4 hours, and managed to get pictures of the sword jugglers:

And this guy, who plays this HUGE bell contraption:

And a lady from the raptor rescue place. Avery was NOT amused when she started talking about how red tail hawks squish mice with their talons:

There was also a Jack Sparrow impersonator. Not quiiite Johnny Depp, but it was close enough to make me contemplate first degree kidnapping!

Avery really really liked the place they had set out for kidlets. He got to ride a zebra/donky mix (aka - the dizzonky!)

Unfortunately, that was the most still he was all day. The rest of his pics turned out like this:

The animals dug having their picture taken, though.

Toby was mostly whiney, all day long. The reason I don't have more pictures is because he was constantly wanting to be held. Apparently Krys couldn't remember to actually TAKE pictures.

At least he liked the petting zoo. He kept screaming BARK! at all the animals. Heh. We did get him to say baa for the sheep, but he wouldn't moo at the cow. Ah, well.

Here's a fairly decent picture of the beautymous mountain view that the ren faire area has:

That's Larkspur, which is halfway between Denver and Co. Springs. We're actually thinking that when we buy a house, it'll be out that way. Of course, that is a LONG way off. A really really long way off.

So, that's pretty much the only exciting thing that's happened to me lately. This week I'll have to find some more trouble to get into just so I can blog about it. HA!
