Not so picture heavy tonight. I haven't been carrying the camera around a lot over the past few days because I tend to need both my hands. Heck, I tend to need several more hands than I actually own, but that's beside the point.

We meant to go out to see the Garden of the Gods this weekend, but it ended up "storming" all weekend, so we didn't want to risk it.

The storms here, so far, have been really lame. It flashes a bit of lightning, maybe thunders once, and is done. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes and may or may not include rain. It's sad, because there are these huge, massive, beautiful cloud formations coming over the mountains constantly, but nothing ever comes of them. I'm told that there IS such a thing as a decent Colorado storm, but I may have to wait a year or two for it. I would like to state for the record that this was not something that was in the brochure...

Of course, there are spontanious hail bursts at random. But that's beside the point.

So, basically, I live in the least natural disaster-prone place in the world. No hurricanes or tsunamis, obviously. It never tornadoes. The fires never get this far up or on this side of the mountains. No earthquakes this far over. I think the worst thing I have to worry about is the occasional 5 feet of snow. I can totally deal.

Anyway. Things have been slightly hectic here. Toby's cutting molars and isn't thrilled with the idea. I told him that it means he can eat steak soon, but that didn't really seem to make him feel any better. He's taken to the whole toddler thing of throwing himself in the floor and sobbing uncontrollably whenever he feels bad and I either can't understand what he needs or won't give it to him. (Believe it or no, monkey-butt, pushing the buttons on the TV won't fix your teething pain.)

Avery has cabin-fever because we haven't really been out of the house in darn near a week. But I don't want to drag Toby out when he's feeling crappy, so now I have a wailing baby and a defiant, sulky 5 year old. Kill me now.

Today was better than the past two days, so maybe we're back on the upswing. This afternoon was spent Avery cheerfully doing homework and Toby cheerfully coloring (and occasionally cheerfully eating the crayons).

The unpacking is still going... slowly. We unearthed most of the clothes this weekend. I fit into some of my (size 5) dresses from HIGH SCHOOL. WEWT! I have no idea why I kept them, but I tried them on as a lark, and they actually fit. Muah hahahaha! Now, where I'm going to wear them is beside the point. Krys suggested PTA meetings, so I punched him in the arm. Then he suggested that I could wear them during my inevitable stint as a soccer mom. And ran, for fear of my wrath. Smart boy.

Everyone knows that when I go to PTA meetings and soccer games, I'm going to have bright purple hair and a band t-shirt on. Duh.

Speaking of bands... I'm currently listening to Radiohead's setlist from Bonnaroo, and I suddenly find myself really liking them. I've never disliked them, but this seems to speak to me more. And the crowd recording? Amazing. Totally amazing. I couldn't get a recording this clear off of a soundboard.

Well, if it were off of the soundboard, I might be able to kill the drunken "BonnaROOOooOOooOoo!" that occasionally punctuates various songs. I have to admit, I have never, ever been so drunk that I felt the need to yell out the name of the place/event that I was currently standing in the midst of. Wow. Now I want to randomly yell "BonnaROOOOOOOO!" in the grocery store or something, just to keep people on their toes. Heh.

Anyway, I leave you with some Really Awesome Art. This is an artist's rendering of my reaction to Weezer's song "Perfect Situation":
