Firstly and foremost... there is me with purple hair:

The apocolypse has been averted. You may all come out of the bomb shelters now. Oh, wait. I'm wearing glasses... retreat!
So, not a whole lot went down after Tuesday. We went downtown and met Krys for lunch on Friday afternoon. Well, I say "met for lunch" but he was really off for the day, having already completed his 40 hours. Despite taking Tuesday off. Yeah, I've totally been a work-widow this week, but it's over for a while, so I can't complain too much. But we did have lunch at Fado's together with the boys, and that was very happy.
I wanted to get some pictures, because it's a really cute place, set up like an old Irish pub... but apparently there's some sort of force-field thing kicking in there because all my photos turned out like this:

While we were waiting for the train to take us downtown (having missed the first one because it showed up 5 minutes early... asshats), I had the following conversation with an old man:
Him: You should get on the platform!
Me: But, this isn't my train!
Him: You should get up here. They yell at you if you don't.
Me: Uhmmm...
Him: How many cities bigger than this one have you lived in?
Me: ...uh, I'm from Memphis.
Him: We were in the Army together.
Me: ... ?
Him: Elvis and I, not the same regiment though.
Me: Oh. *blinks*
Him: *mutters something about wrestling the Irish*
See, this is why I don't like interacting with The Outside World alone. I attract these people, and then I'm not really sure how to deal with them.
Here are some pictures we took while we were waiting on the train to come take us back to Englewood, while we were hot and tired from wandering around:

Random food geekery: I did the happy dance the other day when I found Vidalia onions in the grocery store. I wasn't expecting to see them outside of the south, honestly. Then today (after looking just last week and not seeing any), I found ANDOUILLE! Yay for being able to cook cajun food without ordering stuff off of the internet!
Yeah, I'm a total geek. And now I'm going to bed.
